Is there a free hosted Postgres database I can use for a side project?

Consider Supabase’s Free plan. Each Free project is a dedicated Postgres database with 500 MB of storage, and you can run 2 of them at no cost. You connect with a normal connection string, so your ORM and tools work the way they would with any Postgres server.

If your side project becomes popular or users start relying on it, you should upgrade to the Pro plan. If a Free project gets too little database activity over a week, Supabase pauses it. A few requests a day is usually enough to keep a project running, but that isn’t a guarantee. Projects on other plans (Pro, Team, and Enterprise) are never paused for inactivity.
