If there is already a tick for that, please close this one, I want to track the 18 support
based one this https://www.reddit.com/r/Supabase/comments/1o1i5z6/when_will_supabase_allow_upgrade_to_postgres_v18/ Rough target is January 2026.
Users are inquiring about support for PostgreSQL 18, especially for self-hosted Supabase instances. They are looking for updates on when this version will be available, as it was previously targeted for January 2026. One user plans to deploy a project using Supabase in March 2026 and is concerned about the availability of PostgreSQL 18 support.
Hey there, I am not sure if I should open a new discussion about pg18... as I will be using the self-hosted version. Some discussions also exist and are waiting for a reply. (Discussion #39193)
I also want to be able to use pg18 with this ultimately perfect Supabase! Even supports of basic specs like UUIDv7 will be a huge update.
I am checking Docker Hub, and there is no option to use with 18. I will be deploying my project (sector-specific massive IoT platform) on March 1. It will use self-hosted Supabase. Will there be any release? I am asking this, as I know it was January 2026 on the roadmap...
I am sure that there are improvements, but we just do not know. Maybe the team can update the example on GitHub.
I also wonder what is going on with this subject... I hope to hear news as good as Supabase itself!
Can anyone from the team please update us? Maybe an announcement or detailed explanation by replying to this for each build version can be beneficial to the entire community.
Thank you! New Supabase fanboy, Burak.
