I self host and do daily backups to storage box and other location outside hetzner. At the moment my supabase is 35gb but It will grow to a few hundred gb's in the future
I self host my supabase, let me look up some data.
Backups, but you can set them up yourself. Setting up everything is the hard part, but Claude for example can help you. Maintenance is like 10% of the job. Just check your database, PM2 processes weekly. Make sure everything stays optimized. No slow queries.
I don't know if you use AI like Claude,, but it takes me barely a few minutes a day to run a checklist. And have self healing and monitoring build in.
Why not self host it? Rent a VPS and host it yourself. No limits, the only limits are your VPS specs. It's a bit harder to manage, but you can always use Claude as an assistant to set up everything. I'm doing the exact same thing at the moment. My database now has 7 million rows, and about 6 gb size but it will soon expand a lot as I'm inserting a lot. 🫣😁
I'm using self hosted supabase, but Claude manages it all. And he does it good. So no, I don't look for tools for that.
Just host it locally, no limits. Just make sure to tune your supabase good. Find slow queries, good indexes, ... It needs maintenance.
Congrats
