You can now use your ChatGPT account to sign in to Supabase. Sign in with ChatGPT is rolling out in beta in two places: the supabase.com login page, and through the Supabase plugin in ChatGPT on desktop, web, and mobile.
If you build with ChatGPT Work or Codex, this removes the account friction between where you prompt and where your backend lives. Create or link a Supabase account with the identity you already have, and connect it to ChatGPT in fewer steps. That means less time on account setup and more time building.
Sign in to Supabase with ChatGPT#
Similar to signing in with GitHub, you can now use ChatGPT to sign in to Supabase: choose ChatGPT on the login page, approve on the ChatGPT side, and you're in your Supabase Dashboard.
Signing in works whether or not you already use Supabase:
- If you're new to Supabase, signing in with ChatGPT creates your account, and you can manage it with that identity alone going forward.
- If you already use Supabase and your ChatGPT account shares the same email, the two are linked automatically. Nothing new is created: you sign in to the account you already have, and ChatGPT becomes another option alongside your existing sign-in methods. SSO accounts are the exception and stay separate.
If ChatGPT is where your projects start, your backend account now starts there, too. One identity carries you from the first prompt to a running Supabase project, with one less password and one less account to manage along the way.
Connect Supabase inside ChatGPT and Codex#
Connecting Supabase to ChatGPT is now a click and a confirmation: sign in with the identity you're already using, approve access, and you're connected.
Here's how it works:
- Add Supabase from the plugins directory in ChatGPT.
- Sign in with ChatGPT. One click, since you're already authenticated there.
- Confirm the consent screen showing exactly what you're granting.
- You're back in the conversation with Supabase connected.
Signing in and granting access stay separate: you still review and approve what the plugin can reach, and you can revoke the connection from your Supabase Dashboard at any time. If you're new to Supabase, create an organization in the Dashboard first, and once you have one, you can create projects from ChatGPT.
