As a developer, I kept ending up with a browser window that looked like this:
GitHub + docs + localhost + API dashboard + ChatGPT + random references + 30 tabs I don't dare close. 😭
So I built KeepIt – Tab & Session Manager.
The basic idea:
Save your entire project setup → close it → restore that exact setup when you come back.
I built it with Manifest V3 + vanilla JS, with Supabase handling auth/cloud sync.
Some things I've added:
Named sessions + folders
Tab-group restoration
Automatic session snapshots
kt command to find sessions from the address bar
Alt + Shift + S quick save
Optional idle-tab freezing
Cloud sync between devices
I'm a solo dev and this is currently live, so I'm mainly looking for developer feedback on the workflow, not just “does it look nice?”
If you regularly work across multiple projects, what part of your current tab workflow annoys you the most?
Naveen9667 developed a Chrome extension called KeepIt to manage browser tabs and sessions, using Supabase for auth and cloud sync. The extension allows users to save, close, and restore tab setups, and includes features like named sessions, tab-group restoration, and cloud sync. Naveen9667 seeks developer feedback on the workflow, particularly for those working across multiple projects.
Take that! Bookmark functionality
I close my tabs religiously and CTRL+H CTRL+F.
Having tabs open? IN THIS ECONOMY?
