Appreciate the write-up. For anyone planning a short explainer of Supabase, the hard part on a 90-second timeline is not Auth or Storage, it is that Row Level Security needs at least two screens to be understandable: the policy list and the actual SQL. Showing only the policy list makes it look like checkbox configuration, which is the most common misunderstanding I see. So the cut I am building opens on the dashboard, goes straight into Table Editor, then hard-cuts into the RLS policy screen with a real policy visible, and only then touches the SQL editor. Pricing comes near the end because the free tier and Pro tier difference is what a Chinese developer deciding between self-hosting and the cloud plan actually needs to see. One question for the team: for a non-technical viewer, is it more useful to show Row Level Security at all, or would Auth plus Storage be the clearer first topic for an audience that has never written a policy before? I can do either as the first episode.
