With Supabase Agent Skills, your coding agent checks the current Supabase docs and changelog before it writes code, so it knows what changed after its training data. The skills are open-source instructions your agent loads when a task involves Supabase. They work in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and other agents that support Agent Skills.
Key benefits
- Avoid common security mistakes: The skill tells your agent that views skip RLS by default and how to make a view follow your policies.
- Debug quiet failures: When a query returns no rows or RLS blocks it, your agent reads the Observability docs before it suggests a fix.
- Search logs with SQL: The
query_logstool in the Supabase MCP server runs read-only SQL on up to 24 hours of logs per request, so your agent can find what failed. - Check your project on a schedule: Agent prompts tell your agent to check Health, Security, Performance, or Resources and report what it finds.
When to use Agent Skills
- Your agent writes Supabase code from old training data (the skill checks the changelog and current docs first)
- Your agent hits a Supabase error and suggests a fix from memory (the skill sends your agent to the Observability docs)
- You want your agent to report on your project regularly (Agent prompts, with the MCP server set to
read_only=true)
